Two Rights and a Wrogn

(Published on 20. July 2022, 21:57 by SirWoezel)

I selected a few of my favourite puzzles for a dear friend who will be home for several weeks with a (very) sick child and can use a bit of distraction. Doing so I got to replay Zetamath's fantastic 'Two Truths and a Lie', which can be found here. It made me want to try to create a puzzle with a similar ruleset myself, which I did.

I called it 'Two Rights and a Wrogn', but feel free to call it Zetamath Tribute, because... well... it is.

Rules are all pretty much standard, but here they are in detail anyway:

- Normal sudoku rules apply. But also:

- Of every clue-type, two are correct and one is not.

A purple renban line is correct when the digits on it form a consecutive set in any order.

A green German Whisper is correct when the difference between neighbouring digits on it is 5 or more.

A black kropki-dot is correct when the digits on both sides have a ratio of 2:1.

A white kropki-dot is correct when the digits on both sides are consecutive.

A grey palindrome is correct when the digits on it can be 'mirrored' without changing the sequence.

A between-line is correct when the digits on it lie between the digits in the circles on both ends of the line.

A sandwich clue (large numbers without little arrows outside the grid) is correct when the digits in the row or column that are between the 1 and the 9 in the selected row or column add to that number.

A little killer clue (smaller digits with small arrows outside the grid) is correct when the digits on the selected diagonal add up to that number.

An arrow clue is correct when the digits on the arrow add up to the digit in the circle.

A killer cage clue is correct when the digits in the cage are all different and add up to the small number in the upper left corner of the cage.

A thermo clue is correct when the digits on it strictly increase from the bulb end.

A minimum clue is correct when all orthogonally connected digits are larger than the digit in the center.

Even squares are correct when they contain even digits. Odd circles are correct when they contain odd digits.

Have fun!

Please also note: if you play the puzzle in the CTC-app the arrow pointing from R3C3 to R5C5 is 'covered' by the circle of one of the between lines.

Thanks to Ichtues and Vebby for testing this one.

Solution code: Row 8 followed by column 8.

Excellent puzzle! Very clever setting. I found it pretty tricky at a few points, but not unfair.

Thank you for this excellent puzzle. For me it was complicated but not hard. I just needed to keep chipping away at it, and I enjoyed it very much. I hope a few others have a gho.
