Putteroku

(Published on 13. July 2022, 02:22 by Malrog)

I made my first ever pencil puzzle, a Putteria, and then decided to try and incorporate it into a sudoku.
This was the result, I hope you enjoy it!

Rules:

Fill each row, column and black-outlined region with the digits 1 to 8, once each.
Digits may repeat in the cages as they represent putteria regions. Label exactly one cell in each region with the number of cells that region contains. Two orthogonally adjacent cells may not both be so labeled. The regions are coloured by size for convenience.
The rows marked with > have a cell whose value equals its position in the row. To find that cell, take the sum of the putteria digits in that row. If the sum is more than 8, it wraps around, so a value of 10 would identify cell 2 in the row.

It's a lot more approachable than the number of solves would suggest, and it was fun btw :)

Yoooo, thanks for solving. I thought this one would lie forever unrated, but maybe not. I think it deserves to be seen, so thank you for your kind words :)

Fun times pushing digits around in this puzzle! I wasn't sure how the sparse putteria was going to allow the puzzle to solve, but those little arrows did just enough work. Well done.

Just for the future, please try not to post several puzzles at the same time, too many per day so that makes overflood.... thanks a lot

Yep, no problem - it was a special circumstance, not something I would usually do. :)
