Confined Sandwich Chaos

(Published on 6. July 2022, 16:55 by PrimeWeasel)

Place the digits 1-9 in every single row, column and region. Regions are orthogonally connected and have to be determined. These regions can not cover any 2x2 section of the grid.

Clues outside the grid show the sum of the digits sandwiched between 1 and 9 for that row or column. All of a sandwich' cells (including both crusts) are in the same region.

Digits in a circle show the amount of cells in its vicinity (orthogonally and diagonally) which are part of the same region, not including itself. All circles are given.

I apologize yet again to PjotrV for stating in testing that this puzzle had Normal Chaos Construction rules, it does not, regions CAN NOT cover any 2x2 region. Sorry Peter. And thanks henrypijames and Tsswagger for your test solve.

Unlike Niverio - I really liked the "no 2x2" rule in this puzzle :-)
Very nice!

This puzzle deserves more brilliant solves than the way I butchered it, making countless mistakes and forgetting half of the ruleset. Great logic, fun solve, very clever interactions of the constraints ! Definitely not easy, despite the numerous clues !

~Thanks for the commitment!
