Deconstructed Whiski

(Published on 7. July 2022, 20:48 by mathpesto)

This is based off of the ruleset from my previous puzzle, "Whiski", which is more approachable, so I might recommend trying that one out first to familiarize yourself. If you get stuck, feel free to post a hidden comment, or find me on Discord and I'm happy to help out. Hope you enjoy!

Rules:

Fill some cells in the grid with the digits 1–9 so that no digit repeats in a row/column. Gray squares have even digits and gray circles have odd digits. All adjacent digits that are in a 1:2 ratio are joined by a black or gray dot. All adjacent digits with a difference of 5 or greater are joined by a green or gray dot. Cells with a circle, square, or dot contain a digit. All digits belong to a region, a collection of orthogonally connected cells. A region of size n contains the digits 1 through n once each. Regions may not touch each other orthogonally, although they may touch diagonally.

Phew, I broke this one at least 3 times before I finally got it working - negative constraints are tricky!

To be clear, there's no positive constraint (i.e. two digits joined by a black dot need not be in a ratio 1:2), just a negative constraint (all 1:2 pairs are joined by black/gray dots)?

Edit: nvm from Whiski it seems this is not the case. Reading is hard haha

Fascinating ruleset, but rather long. Thanks for setting, @ mathpesto :)

Im dritten Anlauf geschafft, aber ich würde es gerne noch öfter versuchen ;)
Made it on the third try, but I'd like to try more often ;)

Very nice! The individual steps are not so hard, but the length of the solution path makes it challenging.
