Piatato's challenge

(Published on 2. July 2022, 18:01 by filuta)

After the relaxing snake another relaxing puzzle (at least I felt unusually relaxed when setting it). I challenged Piatato to challenge me with a ruleset that will challenge me. He chose killer + arrows and this is the result. I hope you will enjoy it.

Big thanks to ctc discord user Geryon, and of course Piatato, for their test solves and feedback. Also what a day to release it, since coincidentally just today Piatato finished solving of all my puzzles on this portal (huge congrats to him!).

Have fun solving, I will be happy to read your comments/feedback.

Rules:

Standard sodoku rules apply, in addition to that:
-cages contain no repeated digits and sum to the number in the upper left corner,
-digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the attached circle.

You can solve the puzzle online via:

ctc app
f-puzzles

Solution code: rows 8 and 9 (without a comma or a space)

Trying to exclude wrong digits very early I found "accidently" the right path to solve the upper and middle half. So new time record for a puzzle of yours ... . Clever constructed!

Wow that was quite tough ! At least for me who, out of laziness, always try to find wide deductions instead of looking closely at every option of a cell. But it still managed to reward me with some satisfactory eliminations, and I think in its kind, it’s a great puzzle. Very neat and clever construction. Clearly a 4/5 for me.
...........
thanks, yeah, that was the intention, just a lot of tiny elimnations, until it breaks.

Very clever start and indeed not too hard, although maybe unconsciously, probably to make it a more classic ‘filuta’ experience, I *still* managed to create difficulties for myself XD – so *note to self*, don’t make hasty unjustified decisions and kick out candidates that are perfectly qualified to do the job ;-)
............
haha, thanks a lot!

Wow, very nice “normal” puzzle! As an abnormal rule user myself, this was quite a challenge for me (closer to 4 stars), but nothing was unfair. I just kept making what felt like endless small deductions to chip away and finally got there. After solving, I was curious so I put the puzzle through f-puzzle’s solver, and it generated one of the longest solution path lists I’ve ever seen! Well done and thanks :)
..............
haha, that really made me laugh, thank you so much.
