GAS Powerlines

(Published on 20. June 2022, 16:32 by pqg)

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Each blue line can be read from one end to the other as an equation of the form A^B=C.
If A, B or C has multiple digits, they are read along the line in the same direction as the equation.
Digits may repeat on a line if allowed by other rules.

Examples (for a 5-digit line):
27128 - valid, since 2^7=128
82172 - valid (same equation from other end)
27821 - not valid (128 is the wrong way round)
12827 - not valid (128=2^7, but order is not A^B=C)

I'm using the term GAS relatively here - this is the second of a pair of puzzles based on the powerlines rule. It's probably a bit harder than true GAS level, but it's a lot easier than the first. If you enjoy this, I recommend that one (Powerlines) as a tougher challenge.

Thought I would need a calculator for this one, but surprisingly not really - Nice puzzle!

I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle. I found the "powerlines" interacted beautifully, and the long 7-cell and 9-cell were a clever construction. I had an idea as to their resolution, but I could never logically prove it. Luckily the Sudoku rules helped me fill-in the rest. Great puzzle.
