Rules:
I was hesitant to post this one (it dates back to september 2021) as the ruleset can feel very painful to scan for some solvers. But I am rather proud of it as a setter and I think it's pleasant to solve and surprising if you get comfy enough with the rule, so here it is.
Some help for the scanning : compared to standard 159, the referred digit is the symetric cell along the negative diagonal (ie in 159, a 7 in r3c1 would put a 1 in r3c7, here it puts a 1 in r7c3). The candidates in a cell of col 1 gives the position of 1 in the column corresponding to that cell's row (ie if r1c4 can only have 2 4 or 9, then column 4 contains a 1 in either r2, r4 or r9 and nowhere else).
I labelled it 4 stars difficulty, but only because of the scanning issues. If scanning is ok it will feel more like a 2 or 3 stars (ie some solvers will solve it in 10 minutes top)
Hope you will enjoy the solve! :)

A bit of a necro bump, but man what a puzzle. I love 159 puzzles and have been going through the archive for more.
Started doing this as a normal 159 and figured it's just 4* so it's not obvious. After a good while decided to check the comments and glad I did.
After trying this with the correct rules, it really wasn't too bad. A total mind bender for sure, but not too difficult.
Thank you for a fun one Emphyrip!

What a joy to solve. Yes the rules takes a while to wrap your head around. But it is not monstrously hard once you get the hang of it.

Thanks, I am really happy to know I am not the only one finding it enjoyable :).
