Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb end. Digits may not repeat within cages. Clues outside the grid give the sum of digits on the indicated diagonal.
I think the solution path to this puzzle requires some interesting logic that I'm quite happy with. I hope you enjoy solving it and I'd love to know what you think.
Solution code: Row 9 (left to right) then Column 6 (top to bottom). 18 digits no spaces

Verry nice puzzle. Especially the interaction between the cages and thermos was a nice touch.
Thank you Ned for setting this one!

Color a lot... erase colors... color something different... erase color... stare a bit more... aha!

Once you know, you know. But until you know, you don't know. Still, lots of fun. Thank you. AND, I can say I solved a puzzle along with Phistomefel. OMG, how great is that!

Very nice.
1 star is fine...
For me, this went pretty quickly from... "Duhhhhh what am I looking for?" to "Oh really it's that simple!" very quickly after the initial bits of colouring

Splendid!!!

I finished it, and this is at least a two star, IMO. Definitely harder than the vast majority of the other 1 star puzzles on here.

never thought I'd find that break-in, very glad I didn't give up. very satisfying once you find it. It's not impossible to find, I'm still pretty new to puzzles, so you can do it

Well, I'm not sure what I'm missing but I'm completely stumped just a couple minutes into it.

I love these puzzles that seem to have been discovered rather than created. The logic is quite simple, but quite remarkable.

Sneaky start! Took me a while to spot it. Thanks for a fun puzzle :)

This was terrific, thank you!

This was really fun to do. A little bit of thought into the logic to get the break in at the start and after that it flowed beautifully, I particularly liked the ending too. Very well done!
