Normal sudoku rules apply. The digits are dating. They have formed three couples and one throuple (a couple but with three people). The make-ups of these relationships are to be discovered.
A heart between two digits indicates that those two digits are in a relationship. All Hearts are given.
Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits between the outermost members of the throuple in that row. For example, if 123 are the digits in the throuple, and the last row is 46 1(935)2 87 then the clue would be 17 (9+3+5).

The instructions in the sudokupad link are missing the "1" in the example row before the (935)

I loved both the colouring in the first part and the math in the second part, even though the math part was a bit too easy for my taste. The colouring was right at the sweet spot for me. Difficult enough to make it interesting but easy enough to make it enjoyable.

Thanks to coloring and the negative constraint, I used the phrase "play gooseberry" more times in this puzzle than in any other puzzle I've done over the past 2 1/2 years. Another masterpiece!

I liked the two stage approach. Having a solved puzzle without a single digit in the grid
