Stars and Sudoku
(Published on 12. March 2022, 10:53 by Sumanta(ANU))
My attempt to combine different types of puzzles into one. I have tried to combine star battle, irregular Sudoku and skyscrapers Sudoku into this one. A part of this puzzle is inspired from a video I watched in the CTC channel in YouTube. Hope you will like this. Happy solving!!!
Rules:
Irregular Sudoku rules apply. Fill in each row, each column and the irregular regions with the digits from 1 to 9 without repetition.
Each row, column and the irregularly shaped region contain two stars. Stars don’t touch each other orthogonally or diagonally.
The clues in the right side or below the grid give the sums of the digits present in the two star in that row or column, respectively.
The clues on the top or left side of the grid are skyscraper clues. They represent the number of visible skyscraper standing on
top of a skyscraper on a given star and looking towards the other star in the same row or column.
The view does not go beyond the second star. The directions of the view are marked by arrows outside the grid.
The given 3 in R9C2 is a star. And the inequality sign points toward lower of the two digits.
Explanation rule 4:
Imagine R1C1 is a star with number 2 in it and R1C5 is a star with 7 in it. Then because of the 4 clue in R1, 23457 or 24567 will be valid arrangements of the 5 cells. In both cases 4 skyscraper can be seen. Cells after the R1C5 does not matter. But, 21457 or 24857 are not valid arrangements. Since in first case the 1 skyscraper can’t be seen (from the top of 2) and in second case the 5 or 7 skyscrapers can't be seen (hidden by 8).

Some logic needed to place the stars. The skyscraper solves very smooth after that. Nice but rather <3*
Thanks Marcmees for the solve and feedback. :):) I have changed the difficulty to 3.
