Yajilin (Builder)

(Published on 9. March 2022, 05:07 by au voleur!)

I think this idea has potential. I might do more with these rules if this one is fun!

Yajilin (Builder)

Rules: Standard Yajilin rules apply.

Also, all the groups of grey cells are given outside the grid and must be placed in a 10x10 grid. No symmetry or rotation of the shapes is allowed. Groups of grey cells cannot touch orthogonally.

Note: I suggest solving the puzzle from scratch on graph paper (or on any large grid). I promise, it's better that way. There's still a penpa link provided if you insist. To get the answer check, draw the loop, blacken the shaded cells and draw the borders of the groups of grey cells.

Standard Yajilin: Blacken some white cells and then draw a single closed loop (without intersections or crossings) through all remaining white cells. Blackened cells cannot share an edge with each other. Some cells are outlined and in gray and cannot be part of the loop. Numbered arrows in such cells indicate the total number of blackened cells that exist in that direction in the grid. (Stolen from gmpuzzles)

Solve on Penpa

Solution code: Column 3 and column 10 (B for shaded cells, I for straight lines, S for turns, X for grey cells)
