This puzzle is from a series of "nerd snipe" constructions, originally posted on the CTC fan discord server. The original goal was to find the minimum number of 2-cell thermometers (2CTs) for a unique givenless puzzle. ryokousha and I independently found two 19 2CT versions, and then 18 2CT with two thermos sharing a bulb. However, we were unable to find a nice solve path for these.
This puzzle is a modification of the 18 2CT puzzle, with four givens provided in place of four of the thermometers, as a response of sorts to Aad van de Wetering's Checkerboard puzzle. Solving that puzzle first will give you some hints about how to solve Jealousy!
