Battle With The Archers 28: Between Friends and Enemies (part 2)
(Published on 14. February 2022, 02:50 by Playmaker6174)
This is the 28th puzzle of my
Battle With The Archers collection and the 2nd part of the "Between Friends and Enemies" mini series (for the previous part you can check out
this link).
As said before, in this 2nd part, I attempt to make a version with lockout line, it really made me sweat a lot to choose the best layout for the mid solve path, hence the delay of the usual upload. I hope this puzzle will bring some joy to you :)
[There may be a part 3 in the future but depends on how the idea goes, the future shall decide :P]
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply: every row, column and 3x3 box contains digits from 1 to 9 each once.
- Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the circle cell attached to that arrow. Digits along an arrow can repeat if allowed by other rules.
- Blue lines in the grid with diamonds attached to them are lockout lines: Digits in the diamonds (endpoints) must have difference by at least 4; digits along the line must be different than endpoint values and must not lie between them.

Hard but very nice. Another one down only 13 to go I think? Definitely got harder after number 20 but the logic is always first class.

Totally got stuck on this first time through...then this time it was a breeze, but sometimes things just click when a puzzle it so well constructed!
