Suguru Chaos Deconstruction

(Published on 12. February 2022, 23:45 by mathpesto)

This idea is partly inspired by one of my favorite puzzles ever, "Deconstruction" by Jay Dyer. If you're feeling stuck, check out the link to my walkthrough below ;-) Enjoy!

Rules:

Fill some cells in the grid with the digits 1–9 such that no digit repeats in a row or column. Cells containing a circle, square, or arrow must have a digit in them.

Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the circle. Gray squares contain even digits and gray circles contain odd digits.

All digits must belong to a region, which is a collection of orthogonally connected cells. A region of size n contains the digits 1 through n once each. Regions may not touch each other orthogonally, although they may touch each other diagonally.

After I did the Kropki, I MUST solve this one and what should I say other then: It didn't disappoint me at all.

Quality: Wonderful, excellent, <other_superlatives_fill_in_here>

I am looking forward for puzzle likes this, which hit me like a buldozer.

@Mathpesto: Again, Chapeau!

Solved the kropki one first and wanted to check this one out because I loved that one so much. I think I still prefer the kropki one I think because I loved the negative constraints. but they are both incredable.

-------

@Jjesper: Thanks so much! Negative constraints are always a lot of fun for me both as a solver and setter.

Lovely puzzle! for some reason, I found this one more approachable than the kropki, maybe because I solved the Kropki before.

------

@abed hawila Thanks so much for solving both, and glad to hear you enjoyed them!
