Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Arrows: every arrow in the grid has 1, 2 or 3 heads, which indicates how many times the digit in its cell is repeated in the direction the arrow points to. For example, the following arrow has 2 heads, so the digit 7 is repeated 2 times in the arrow's direction:
  • Negative constraint: all possible arrows have been given, thus a diagonal without arrows cannot contain any repeated digits.

I hope you'll enjoy this unusual (yet fun) rule set! Comments are welcome.

Solution code: Row 8 then Column 2 (18-digit number without spaces)

solved. i assume negative constraint only for 3x3 box that have arrows given. or else box 4 would have arrows pointed northeast

A: Hi, the arrows in this puzzle were given per diagonal and per digit, so there are no further arrows appearing in other boxes. And (as stated in the ruleset), there are no repeats on the other diagonals. I’d be happy if you could review your very harsh rating.

i don't understand negative constraint on this one. in the example why there is no arrow on the other 7's pointing towards the given 7?

it is right to assume that negative diagonal have no repeating digit since there is no arrow? or all arrow given apart from 'given digits'?

That was fun.
the struggle is getting the first ~4 digits, after that it collapses ;)
