Line of Sight Chaos Production

(Published on 29. January 2022, 03:39 by RockyRoer)

The Rules

  1. Normal Irregular Sudoku Fill each row, column and 7-cell region with the digits from 1-7. The boundaries of the regions must be determined by the solver.
  2. Line Of Sight Products Clues in the grid indicate some of the cells that can see at least two cells in its same region both horizontally and vertically. Every digit it sees horizontally is summed, and every digit it sees vertically is summed, and these sums have been multiplied together. Region boundaries stop the line of sight.

    Examples:

    • The 30 clue in the example puzzle sees 1+2 vertically and 5+2+3 horizontally and 3*10 = 30.
    • A clue could not have been placed in R3C3 because it does not see at least two cells vertically.
Example:
Play on f-puzzles or on CTC App

The Puzzle

Play on f-puzzles or on CTC App

Solution code: The number of regions in each row from top to bottom, followed by the digits in row 2. (For the example it would be 2332141523)

Nice puzzle ! Now i'm ready to do the bigger one ! Thx.

Reply: glad you enjoyed it! I do hope you’ll give the 9x9 an attempt. I think it’s similar to this, but has stalled out at 10 solves… would love to see it get a proper rating too! Best of luck!

Both the 5x5 and 7x7 puzzles are very enjoyable. So, are we going to see a 9x9 version with a 729 clue at the top left corner? ;)

We will see if this gets enough solves… although I was considering 700 instead. :-)

700 is a good choice. :)

Thanks everyone! Glad you're enjoying it. The 5x5 example puzzle is a fun little guy too... even though the solution is showing.
