Thermo x-sums sudoku
(Published on 21. January 2022, 08:04 by Aspartagcus)
After getting very nice feedback on my
kropki x-sums sudoku, I decided to make one using thermometers as well. Let me know what you think! :)
RULES:
- Standard sudoku rules apply.
- Thermometer rules apply: Numbers on thermometers have to increase moving from the bulb to the tip.
- X-sums rules apply: Numbers outside the grid indicate the sum of the x first digits in that row or column seen from the direction of the clue, where x is the first of those digits.
Below is a 4x4 example. If you wish to try it out, you can do so here:

And this is the puzzle:
Enjoy!

The numbers on the thermometers outside of the grid have to be filled in for answer check to trigger.
Solution code: Rows 4 and 6 in succession.

Very clever puzzle! Really enjoyed it. I found it slightly easier than the kropki version, that one messed with me more than it should have :D

smooth solving after the intended break in. Loved it how the values on the small thermo's around the grid were quasi irrelevant mostly needed just to find the value of X. thanks.

Thanks! Yes, I try to make the other clues only apply to the x-sums clues when I set these puzzles, with a few exceptions. :)

I just yesterday solved the kropki one. This one was harder for me.

I would probably agree, there are a few quite tricky spots in there. :) Thanks for solving!
