Regional Yajilin — 'Abandoned Factory'
(Published on 17. January 2022, 06:43 by PixelPlucker)
Regional Yajilin is one of those modest genres that I find enjoyable to work away at, so I tried making one. The logic in this one should be quite conventional throughout, but I hope this will still prove to be an engaging exercise with some bite-sized challenges. Enjoy!
The P. Lux Pentomino Factory has seen better days. The once proud facility has been overrun by creeping foliage, and the floor and ceiling are riddled with holes.
Some say you can hear the agonised sobs of pentominoes emanating from each of the building's four quadrants; disfigured from years of neglect, these amorphous husks lie vengefully in the dark, waiting for a careless adventurer to stumble past. But that's just an old wives' tale, right...?
Can you map out the hazards and explore the abandoned site safely?
Standard Regional Yajilin rules apply:
- Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent.
- Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells.
- Draw a non-intersecting loop that travels vertically and horizontally through the centres of all the remaining cells.
You can try this puzzle online using Penpa+ or puzz.link. Enjoy!
Solution code: For each row from top to bottom, enter the number of the column where the first shaded cell appears. Enter only the last digit for multi-digit numbers, and enter 0 for a row without a shaded cell.
