Arrow - Canal View

(Published on 7. January 2022, 13:06 by abed hawila)

This puzzle is a hybrid between Arrow sudoku and Canal view (you can find below an example 6x6 grid).

Rules

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Arrow: Digits on the arrows must add up to the digit in the attached circle.

Canal View: Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area. Arrow circles are the clues for Canal View. They cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells connected in a straight line horizontally or vertically to the clue. No 2x2 region may be entirely shaded.

Additionally, digits cannot repeat within unshaded regions (yellow regions in the example).

Such a brilliant construction with very smooth path and lots of elegant deductions, and the funny thing was that it didn't even feel stuck at any point too :D

What a puzzle and what a ride of almost 100 minutes! I broke it after an hour due to a wrong assumption at the very beginning, but it wasn't frustrating at all, i was actually happy that i could experience the break-in again! Thank you Abed
