Japanese Sums Sudoku
Inspiration for this type comes from Tom Groot Kormelink.
Solve online in Penpa+ (thx SudokuExplorer!) or in Penpa+ with answer check. (Thx Dandelo!)
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Shade some cells such that clues outside the grid indicate the sums of digits in contiguous sets of unshaded cells in the corresponding row or column, where each question mark represents a number (1-45). The individual sets of unshaded cells have to be separated by at least one shaded cell.
Solution code: Row 9, followed by column 1.

Beautiful construction Richard! I also love this variant. I got the idea from the WSC 2017 in India btw, so those credits go to someone else, but thank you for the reference :)
