Top Factor Killer Sudoku

(Published on 30. December 2021, 17:50 by RockyRoer)

The Rules:

  1. Normal killer sudoku rules apply, but cage totals must be deduced. Digits cannot repeat in a killer cage.
  2. [Top Factor] In each cage, the cell containing the highest factor greater than 1 of the cage's total has been marked with a question mark.
    • Ex. A cage containing 349 would have a ? where the 4 is.
    • Ex. A cage containing 178 would have a ? where the 8 is.
    • Ex. A cage containing 169 would have no question mark, as only factors greater than 1 are marked.

Great puzzle, requiring and rewarding analysis on paper of the possibilities. I enjoy the way this sort of puzzle chips away deductively until a solution emerges.

I had fun, but started out by making it much harder than it was (not that it's easy) - A unique puzzle experience for sure; thanks, RockyR

For future solvers: make sure to check the possibilities for each cage and write some notes carefully, some points might need a good amount of precision for it. :)
