Cube

(Published on 25. December 2021, 08:02 by bigger)

Standard Sudoku rules applies. Fill in each of the 6 grid with numbers from 1 to 4 so each digit occurs exactly once in every row, column and 2x2 box.

It’s a cube.

Clues shows the sum of the x-th digit on each side, where x is the first digit the clue sees on one side. The clue can see two or three different x.

This one should be easy. However, I shatter the break in, not that much, to slightly push up the difficulty. I always know I would make one of this when I set the quadnity. These are the ones that remind me what packed link could be. As far as I can recall, the connection between different grid mostly used shared region or clues. The solving path is usually almost finishing one grid then move on to another, which is fine, but it lack the reason to pack them up. I always want to find a rule to think the whole puzzle as one, at least not separated grids.

Also, has anyone notice that it’s been a long time since the last 3D Sudoku variant, unless the coordinates counts, which is advertised at the top of the Sudoku introduction page. What’s with the spiral ones? Maybe some other day. It seems to me Rallye might overrun the other two variant.

Anyway, you could think of the cube as a present, piecing up with stickers after tearing the box down for content, which is the story material I might write when I made the 6X6 ones, which is definitely harder and may never happened. Have fun and don’t get dizzy. And, who got the BRO image?

Comment october. there's a setting competition in China aiming for new ideas for competition, which should be finishied now but no. At that time, i don't want to give them all my good stuff, so I select all those that can not be copied easily and sent it to them, good luck using those in competition. of course i'm sending the cube. as far as I know, only people like me who use PS to draw are capable of making the cube looks like this. but they need two example puzzles for each idea. so i remade it.

Ok, the cube looks a bit off, i guess i'll stick to the cube example layer down version future, which would be a pain to draw the grid. connection part, better. font, the new one. have to say, 6X6 is way harder to construct, but the asymmetric grid gives away the imformation of each side. no need for given digits then. but then came the realization. 6X6 is the extreme one can take for a cube, it's so annoyed to remember every side and every clue. and, i kind of want a software now(which i may never spent time to learn, i don't like losing control). envision the whole 6 grid in my brain is not a fun thought. i have to concentrate and think of it so many times to make sure the grid has one placement. unless I want to challenge myself again(if I don't have any back up left), I will not make a cube again. so painful.
