This puzzle is a new Sudoku variant that I stumbled into while experimenting with multiple grids. If further experimentation yields interesting and fun interactions, then you may see more of these. Hope you enjoy!
Rules:
This puzzle consists of two 4x4 Sudoku grids (thick bordered regions) and two external cells.
Place the digits 1 to 9 in cells so that a unique set of four digits appears in each of the two 4x4 Sudoku grids, and the set of those digits appear in every row, column, and 2x2 of their respective grid (eight digits total appear within the two 4x4 grids). The remaining digit appears in both external cells.
Here's a possible configuration:
Digits along arrows must sum to the digit in the corresponding circle.
Cells separated by a white dot must contain contain consecutive digits. All dots may or may not be given.
You can solve online at Penpa+
Solution code: Row 1 spanning left to right across both 4x4s (8 digits) followed by Row 4 (another 8 digits)
