Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits along a between line must be strictly between the digits on the circled ends of the line. (IE: if the digits in the circles are 5 and 9, the line may contain 6,7, and 8.) The digits on the line can be in any order, and may repeat when allowed by the other rules. Digits on a thermometer must strictly increase from the bulb end. Digits in a cage must sum to the little number in the upper left, and may not repeat in the cage. Numbers outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits on their indicated diagonal. Digits may repeat when otherwise allowed. Comments welcome! :-)
Solution code: First row of puzzle, and fourth column of puzzle (read top to bottom). Enter as a string of 18 digits, no spaces.

I enjoyed this. Personally, I like multiple variant rules (so long as they don't disappear up their own orifices - which none of these do).
** Thanks - I guess number of variants in a puzzle is quite a personal preference thing...

4 variant rules are at least 2 too many
** Fair enough! :-) Your feedback is received and logged.

This one was a walk in the park, hence the title. I had to use a lot of classic sudoku techniques here, which is refreshing for a change :) Thank you!
** I'm glad you had a lovely stroll. :-)

I enjoyed this puzzle a lot, but I do agree with TimurA - it feels more like a puzzle with a between line in it rather than an introduction (I learned equally as much if not more about thermos, for example). Regardless, thanks for the puzzle!
** Thanks for the feedback. I will be more careful with titles in the future.

The title is misleading since there are four variants in this puzzle. Maybe "Intro to Multi-Variant Sudoku" is more fitting.
** That's a fair point. I was using the others to support the betweeen line, but still....
