A shipmate is assigned to each room; one of whom has met an unfortunate end. Each room also contains a killer cage.

Add all of the digits of a constraint to get a total. Compare that number to the cages. There is one constraint that matches one cage. The person in that room has died of that constraint.

To add: 3) Renban--add all of the digits. 4) Arrow--add the circle with all the digits along the arrow. 5) Between Lines--add the two circles and all of the digits along the line. 6) Sandwich--add the digits in between the 1 and 9; not counting the 1 and 9. 7) Clones--add all of the digits in only one clone; not both clones together. 8) Thermometer--add all of the digits including the bulb.

Causes of death are: Hung by Renban Rope, Shot with an Arrow, Crushed Between a cannon and a bulkhead, Choked on a Sandwich, Murdered by a Clone, or Burned in a Hot fire.

The unfortunate soul lost 38 deciliters of red blood.

Solve the entire puzzle as normal then determine.... Who is the shipmate and how did they die?

No bifurcation or guessing is required.

1) Sudoku

• Place the digits 1 through 9 once each in every row, column, and box.

2) Killer Cages

• 2.1) Digits in a cage add to the total in the top left corner.
• 2.2) Digits cannot repeat in a cage.

3) Renban

• All of the numbers along the purple Renban lines must be consecutive, but in any order, and cannot repeat.

4) Arrow

• The digit in the circle is the sum of the digits along the arrow; which can repeat if allowed by normal Sudoku.

5) Between Lines

• Digits on the line between the two circles must be between but not the same as the digits in the circles.

6) Sandwich

• The number outside of the grid is the sum of the digits between the 1 and 9 in the row or column.

7) Clones

• The two grey regions contain identical digits in identical places.

8) Thermometer

• The digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb end.
