Variants: Sky Scraper, German Whispers, XV, Kropki, Thermometer, Arrows, Palindrome, Killer Cages, Renban

Normal Sudoku rules apply and the following--maybe! There are extra constraints numbered 1 through 9. A constraint is only valid if its digit appears in a grey square; otherwise, it is not valid and CANNOT be true.
There are no negative constraints for XV or Kropki.

0) Sudoku

  • Place the digits 1 through 9 once each in every row, column, and box.

1) Sky Scraper

  • A digit outside the grid indicates how many digits can be seen as if they were sky scrapers and you were looking down the row from ground level. For Example a 5 clue could see 1 3 2 5 4 8 7 6 9. 2 is smaller than 3 and therefore is not seen. Likewise 4 is not seen as it is smaller than 5. Also, 6 and 7 are not seen being less than 8. So the 5 sky scrapers that are seen are 1 3 5 8 9.

2) German Whispers

  • Adjacent numbers along the green German Whispers line must have a difference of 5 or greater.

3) XV Pairs

  • 3.1) Two cells adjacent to an X sum to 10.
  • 3.2) Two cells adjacent to a V sum to 5.

4) Kropki Pairs

  • 4.1) Two cells adjacent to a white dot have a difference of 1 and are consecutive.
  • 4.2) Two cells adjacent to a black dot have a ratio of 1 to 2.

5) Thermometer

  • Numbers along a thermometer strictly increase the from the bulb.

6) Arrows

  • Numbers along an arrow sum to the number in the connected circle.

7) Palindrome

  • Numbers along the grey Palindrome line are symmetric about the middle.

8) Killer Cages

  • 8.1) Digits in a killer cage add to the total in the top left.
  • 8.2) Digits cannot repeat in a cage.

9) Renban

  • Numbers along the purple Renban lines must be consecutive, but in any order, and cannot repeat.

Solution code: Please enter the 18 digits of Row 6 followed by Column 4.

This was great! Very clever design and fun to solve. I'm glad I happened to discover it while searching for something else. :)

Here is a Sudokupad version. The arrows look a little funny in this version but it works perfectly well. https://sudokupad.app/q32m50ute1

I missed an easy deduction which made my break-in all the more difficult, but still kept the puzzle thoroughly enjoyable. Kudos on the unique ambiguity setup.

Thank you very much. You are giving Filto a run for the money as being my top solver. I have a follow up ready to publish in a day or two that is a little more challenging and follows more closely to my desire to have progress-stuck-clue-progress-stuck-clue-progress-stuck-clue-solve! ~ZH

Utterly brilliant idea, and well-executed. Very fun puzzle with each logical leap a satisfyingly large one. Extremely well done!

I only paid for two compliments. I can't afford all of this extra praise ;) ~ZH

I am glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit nervous about this one. It was a little harder to set and make it enjoyable than I thought it would be. ~ZH
