Cavern Crawl 3: 2:1

(Published on 10. September 2021, 22:02 by Nordy)

In the third puzzle in the Cavern Crawl series, use 2:1 ratios to travel deeper into the caverns.

This puzzle has a 3 star difficulty if you have solved either Cavern Crawl 1 or Cavern Crawl 2. Otherwise this puzzle is 3.5 stars.

Wisdom gained from setting the previous two puzzles has been applied here. Enjoy!

Rules:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. To distinguish the boxes, each 3x3 box is shaded completely blue or completely white.

Cells separated by a black dot contain digits with a ratio of 2:1.

Horizontally and vertically adjacent digits must have a difference of 3 or less except when separated by a “wall” (thick black line). Adjacent digits separated by a wall may have any difference. A 3x3 example is provided below.

You can solve online using Penpa+. Choose your preferred puzzle setup from the links below, and feel free to change colors/lines:

that was really cool, and not too hard once you find out how to get it going.
