Standard sudoku rules applies. Fill the grid with numbers from 1 to 6 so no repeated digit in every row, column and 2x3 box.
The digit in the circle is the sum of the digits along the arrow. The following variant change some part of the rule.
Let’s start easy. The digit on the arrow is a factor of the circle, which means any digit on the arrow multiply by an integer equals the circles . if the circled digit is 6, then only 1236 can be on the arrow, not 45.
Still easy. Circled digit indicates the number of larger digits on the arrow. A circled 6 means only 6 digits on the arrow is larger than 6.
Circled digit indicates the number of same parity digits as the circled on the arrow. A circled 6 means only 6 digits on the arrow is even.
Circled digit indicates the number of different digits on the arrow. A circled 6 means only 6 different digits appear on the arrow.
These puzzles are made by Old Miles from China around 2019. Skyscraper arrow and product end arrow appears in WSC, so I’ll end this series here. Have to say, it shows arrow may be at its end. It’s hard to think of another arrow variant. Looking back is pretty interesting. That’s some name Old Miles came up. Another thing that’s worth mentioning, I lost a puzzle, and Old Miles can’t remember it either. It’s a very long arrow, the longest. But I forget the rule so it’s lost (or it’s too easy to be posted anywhere, so forgotten)
Since somebody did a shoutout to other puzzles, I think I perhaps should do it too, for fun. From now on, I’ll challenge myself to showcase the Sudoku variants that are fun between my posts, maybe it can cure my procrastination. I’m not into generic structure which can be use anywhere or stitch up rules. But come on, who wouldn’t check SudokuExplorer and Totallynormalcat for structure. So here’s for now.
Multiplicative arrow(twobear), like I said, you don’t get more arrow variant.
X-Sandwich (Lizzy01), interesting combo.
Mod 9 (rmahus), even though new ones came up, I still think the first one have more fun.
Intersections Sudoku(RockyRoer), it’s a RockyRoer puzzle, do I have to say anything. Ok, just one thing, it’s one of the few that actually look nice, not messy, but really clean looking.
Akari Sudoku(Ringo), find me another good puzzle hybrid in recent month, you probably can’t. Akari Sudoku are notoriously hard. This one is just fine. I guess pencil hybrid might not be the trend, but I like a good hybrid.
reductive sum arrow(pleasant_setting), fun rule, don’t check the comment. I think the first one is better the second one(not again)
Renban X-sums(udukos),it’s a udukos puzzle, do I have to say anything. It’s not getting a 100% for no reason
sequence line(antichaos), that’s some execution.
phantom arrow line(_), weird arrow, worth a try, when it’s back.
sandwich region(hamslice), a solid 5 star, worth your time. The best 5 star for a long time. There are very clear steps. Every step is rewarding. Except in this one, you might break it.
killer region( jharris3791), I did not expect this one to be that good. If you think hamslice’s region drawing is hard, this one might be more suitable. Not that hard, but enough to keep you going.
crust(filuta), inspired by .RockyRoer, coming up new variants. Pretty good, worth a try.
four operation(kolot), nearly got me.
(will anybody actually check those)
Solution code: row 1 of the first one, then second one, then third one, then 6th row of the forth one
