Solid Snake, a sudoku slitherlink hybrid

Normal sudoku rules apply, but the grid is filled with digits 0-8. In addition, the puzzle is simultaneously a slitherlink puzzle: A single loop travels along the edges of the cells, without branching or crossing itself. Digits 0-3 tell how many of that cell's four edges are part of the loop. Huge thanks to Dandelo for the updated Penpa link.

Thanks very much guys for the feedback, I kinda rushed getting my first puzzle up after finishing with it. (I did at least have it tested on CTC discord :P)

But Penpa has 0 - no need to substitute it with 9.

I very much like this hybrid, it was great fun, thank you!
P.S.: at the moment the solution code only checks the correctness of the Sudoku, you could also ask for part of the Slitherlink (e.g. number of horizontal lines in columnX). Just an idea :)
