Intersections Sudoku

Here's a new rule that has some nice potential I think. If you'd like to try a smaller, easier version with the same ruleset, try Intersections #2 (6x6)

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply. Fill every row, column, and 3x3 box with the digits from 1 to 9 with no repeated digits.
  • Numbers in killer cages cannot repeat.
  • [Intersections]Numbers in squares represent the sum of all cells that are in the 'intersection' of the two killer cages - that is, all the numbers they have in common.
    • Ex. if a 12489 cage is separated with another by a square containing a 7, then the other cage must contain a 1, 2, 4 and cannot contain an 8 or 9.

I made a mistake late in the solve and had to restart. :(

Reply: ugh. Been there. Glad you persevered and finished. 3.75 stars?

The mistake has thrown me off and precluded a more precise difficulty rating. But with or without the mistake, it's somewhere between 3½ and 4½ stars for me, rounding to 4.
