Standard Sudoku Rules apply to the final numerical layout. The grid also contains four cages, which each contain the digits 1-9 without repeating.
Little Killer Arrows: Numbers outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits along the given diagonals.
Renban Lines: Lines in the grid will each contain a set of consecutive digits, though not necessarily in consecutive order.

Setter's Notes :: July 6, 2021 :: I've spent the past few puzzles trying too hard to be something I'm not: A great setter of difficult puzzles who gets featured more often on "Cracking the Cryptic". So I played around with Renban Lines, which I've never used before, and just had fun with it. I'm guessing 2 stars.

@Big Tiger: the Renaissance of Distant Relations might have something to do with the appearance of SVS384 earlier this week. ;-)

I made a mistake twice, but I am glad I gave it a third try, that helped me through. Very nice deductions along the way, and a very narrow solving path. Thanks for this gem!
Fellow solvers: this one is absolute worth the solve; give it a try!
BTW: it is for sure harder than the 2 indicated stars...
*** Big Tiger: There seems to be a Renaissance of Big Tiger puzzles going on, lol - older ones that weren't really noticed the first time are now getting solves.
As for the two stars, I went back yesterday to try solving this one again myself, now that it's been a while ... and yeah, it's tougher than when I created it, ha ha.
