Gherkin Butty (A skyscraper sandwich)

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply.
Values outside the grid are both skyscraper clues *and* sandwich clues.
Sandwich rules: the values outside the grid are the sum of the digits sandwiched between 1 and 9 in that row or column.
Skyscraper rules: the values outside the grid indicate how many skyscrapers can be seen from that side. Taller skyscrapers hide the view of lower ones.
Example: valid rows for a value of '5' on the left side of the grid include 234795168 and 456812397.
There are no negative constraints.

Hint:
If you're having trouble getting started try colouring the cells that can't be 1 or 9. You might be surprised how far this can get you.

In this kind of puzzle you have much more informations, what can't be then direct hints. Look out where 1 and 9 can / can not be.
Starting with row 1 helped me a lot.
This puzzle ist probaly not "very easy" but easier than the other two. Or I'm more expierienced now ;-)

Agreed. I'm no DiMono, but I'm 10 minutes in and only got 7 perimeter cells pencil-marked with between 3-5 options before I hit a wall.

I think this is a harder puzzle than you give it credit for. This took me a little over half an hour to solve. Fun though.

Thanks for your feedback. I often immerse myself when I'm experimenting with a new ruleset. Unfortunately that usually means that what I think is "obvious" isn't. And, even worse, what I think is 'hard' might not be.
I haven't worked out how best to balance this yet, but I'm sure the solution will involve alcohol. Cheers :)
