20x20 Standard Yajilin

(Published on 14. June 2021, 14:11 by stefliew)

Normal Yajilin rules apply:

Blacken some white cells so that no two blackened cells are orthogonally adjacent and draw a single non-intersecting loop through the remaining white cells that goes horizontally and vertically, from cell center to cell center.

Clues represent the number of blackened cells in a straight line in the indicated direction. Not all blackened cells need to be pointed at by a clue.

Trial and error is not required!

Solve on Penpa+

Solution code: Number of blackened cells in rows 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19 and columns 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17 (12 digits).

The current rating totally belies the true beauty and elegance of this puzzle. Such an incredible shame! I can only assume that the intended path wasn't found, because it is just so breathtaking & clever. For any future solvers, there is no T&E needed, nor any complicated (break-in aside) / messy steps at all. Thank you so much stefliew :)
