Solution code: For each row from top to bottom, all digits (in order from left to right) that do not belong to any pentomino. In the example, the first 6 rows would give 3467891479278765398.

I'm not overly keen on pentomino puzzles as I'm not very good at visualising rotations etc, but I really enjoyed this one. Thanks.

Again, what a pentolicious treat !
I’m just amazed that you could find à configuration that works so well and lets you fit every pentomino with the right count in there ! I mean, I understand how you got the last ones in there with a particular clue, but the configuration before that is just a model of clue placement ! Ganz toll, wie immer! Hat viel Spaß gemacht.
(And yes, I do like to take the time to write some comment after spending much more time solving a puzzle. The hardest part of it is to remain spoiler free while giving a hint to the setter what part I liked in the puzzle.)

Very nice! I liked how it got more challenging to find the pentomino cages as I got further into the puzzle.

This puzzle was a joy to solve. I can well imagine that constructing the puzzle might have been a bit exhausting, since I think it can easily end in a contradiction or an unresovable ambiguity. Thank you all the more for setting this, Magnus!
-----
Thanks you for your kind words Phistomefel! Setting was actually reasonably smooth, got kind of lucky most likely :).

This puzzle concept was an idea that came to me that at first seemed quite unlikely but in the end turned out to work surprisingly well.
The puzzle should be reasonably straight-forward with no particularly tricky step, but I have given it four stars difficulty due to the length.
Good luck, and feel free to post a hidden comment if you get stuck and need a small hint!
