Primescraper: Skysweeper

(Published on 12. April 2021, 20:49 by grkles)

Normal sudoku rules apply. The > points to the smaller digit.

Primesweeper: Cells marked with a grey square contain a digit indicating the number of prime digits (2, 3, 5, or 7) that appear in the 3x3 square centered on that cell, including the cell itself. All possible primesweeper clues have been marked.

Skyscraper: each digit in the grid represents the "height" of a building, and taller buildings block the view of smaller buildings. Clues outside the grid indicate the number of skyscrapers that can be seen from that direction.

Very fun puzzle and quite a smooth flow too! The negative constraint of the square did a lot in this one :)

glad I browsed through the fastgrowing stack of ignored sudoku's to find this puzzle. Max 3* but well constructed with minimal givens to maintain a smooth and rewarding solving rythm.

Very nice variant ! The interactions of primes and skyscrapers are quite fun. Once you get a grip on it though, the ride is smooth. I would give it 3 stars difficulty. Nice work, very pleasant to solve !

~ Thank you so much! I was amazed while setting that such a small amount of given information produced a solved puzzle, but as you said the interactions are powerful and interesting. The 4-star difficulty suggestion was mostly because primesweeper is an unusual ruleset, though I think the actual logic is not particularly difficult.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed!
