I came across a couple of "Distance Sudoku" puzzles by Richard and cdwg and thought I'd try to create one of my own with my own twist on the ruleset. If you enjoy this, here's the puzzles that inspired it:
My twist on the rules is that the row and column number determine the distances between numbers.

A rare occasion where the puzzle is easier for me than suggested.
Reply: I did waffle between 2 and 3 stars for difficulty. It's not too hard once you get your mind wrapped around the novel rules. Not like cdwg2000's 2nd Distance Sudoku which i have yet to solve!

Smooth solve. I was constantly worried that my counting was wrong, which I suppose is a consequence of the constraint. Very fun.
Reply: I know the feeling. This is v 1.2 of the puzzle. v1.1 had multiple solutions because i miscounted once :-)

Nice rule set, I recommend using the puzzle type "Clue Distance Sudoku", tomorrow I will try to solve it.
