Palindrome Sandwiches

(Published on 13. March 2021, 12:26 by RockyRoer)

Here's another puzzle in my collection of Sandwich puzzles without givens. If you're interested in others:

The Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Numbers outside the grid (oops? did I forget them?) represent sandwich sums -- that is the sums of the numbers between the 1's and 9's in that row and column. Sandwich sums may be 1 or 2 digit numbers.
  • Lines in the grid are palindromes -- the different colors are simply there to help distinguish between them and have no other meaning. When a line covers a sandwich sum, it must be determined if that sum is 1 or 2 digits long. If it's two digits long, the tens digit is written first (at the beginning of the palindrome line) followed by the ones digit.
    • Example: The green line in box 1 could be 13531 with a sandwich clue of 13
    • Example: The green line in box 4 could be 1331 with a sandwich clue of 13 or 828 with a sandwich clue of 8.
    • Example: The red line in box 2 could be 12321 representing a sandwich sum of 12, and R1C5 is 3, R2C5 is 2 and R3C5 is 1.
