arROw SudOkU

(Published on 1. March 2021, 18:08 by filuta)

Rules of the puzzle:

Standard sudoku rules apply.

No number can repeat on the same position in two different (standard) 3x3 boxes.

The grey lines are palindromes (i.e. read the same forwards and backwards - like 159951)

The inequality signs indicate the inequality between the numbers in the corresponding cells.

The number in a cell with a grey square must be even, the number in a cell with a grey circle must be odd.

Enjoy the puzzle and thanks (in advance) for any feedback/comments!

A great beauty. I managed to read all of the inequality symbols backwards, and (of course) the solution was still unique. Thankfully this was easy to fix :D

Yet another masterpiece. I had a blast!

What a beautiful logic solving path! The disjoint groups interact so excellent with the palindromes which made the first half quite "easy". It was more challenging to apply the inequality signs correctly ... . Well done!

Oh yeah, got this one too now! I figured after all the time I spent on a similar concept, maybe I should get back to that one and it would feel easier, and... well in a way, it did, but wow, it was still really hard! I feel I should have seen (that key deduction) earlier though -- after that it was fine and the real fun began. These puzzles of yours are just so awesome, I can't even begin to tell you :D
(EDIT: Triggered the rating it seems, and 88% eh? Well I really enjoyed it a lot myself -- the 'disjoint sets' deductions were really cool I thought)

Thank you.

This was a great puzzle as well, but I agree that the consept worked more intuitively with the diagonal constraints. I am happy that I did that one first, haha! :-)

Very clever design. Thanks for this brilliant puzzle!

Phew! Even after knowing the break-in from your other other "non-arrow arrow sudoku" (00061P), it was quite a challenge here. Thank you!

Yeah, that's essentially the reason, I decided to redo it, since it feels kind of unnecessary and also the diagonal constraint suits the original concept much better (I feel), the disjoint sets rule often seems kind of random (apart from the part you mentioned in the other comment, which really would be difficult to create with a different ruleset)

This is quite a bit more challenging than you let on. I must say.

(filuta) I see, well, it is always hard to judge, at least for me (so thank you for the comment). Hope it was worth the time.

I'm excited to play this later. As someone who has gotten a little sick of all of the arrow sudokus out there, I find this absolutely hilarious.

(filuta) have fun solving it!
