Cells separated by X sum to 10, cells separated by V sum to 5.
Clues on the outer border identify with each other as indicated, for example R6C1 + R4C9 = 5.
Not all possible X,V or dots are given (no negative constraint).

I've learned since that "particle zoo" is also a puzzle genre which this puzzle has nothing to do with. Apologies if the title confused you, but I'm kinda stuck with the name now.
