Gravity Sudoku
(Published on 15. February 2021, 16:49 by Cane_Puzzles)
Hello, this is the first puzzle I am publishing here. This puzzle contains a new rule set that I came up with. I hope you enjoy it. Any comments and feedback would be appreciated.
I am not a native German speaker, so comments and corrections about the German text are also highly appreciated.
Standard Sudoku Rules Apply: Place the digits 1-9 into each cell of the grid. Rows, columns or boldly outlined 3x3 boxes may have not repeated digits in them.
Gravity Rule: The number at the corner of a cage is the sum of all digits that are within the gravitational effect zone of the cage.
This means the sum of the digits that are at most X orthogonal moves away from the cell with the cage -including the digit in the cage- where X is the digit in the cage.
The Gravity Rule is explained with an example at the bottom of this page.
Try this puzzle on F-Puzzles
here.
Example:
If the grey cell contains 1, the cage in the grey cell would have the value "Grey + Green" in it.
If the grey cell contains 2, the cage in the grey cell would have the value "Grey + Green + Purple" in it.
If the grey cell contains 3, the cage in the grey cell would have the value "Grey + Green + Purple + Yellow" in it.
If the grey cell contains 4, the cage in the grey cell would have the value "Grey + Green + Purple + Yellow + Blue" in it.
If the grey cell contains 5, the cage in the grey cell would have the value "Grey + Green + Purple + Yellow + Blue + Black" in it
and so on...
Solution code: Row 4 followed by Column 8 (18 digits with no spaces)

@henrypijames Thank you for your comments and your suggestion. I wanted to keep the name short and simple. That is why I called it "The Gravity Rule".

Very elegant in its minimalism, and in theory not too difficult, but in practice requires some getting used to - I probably made a double-digit number of counting and calculating errors. Still, wouldn't mind seeing more of this lovely ruleset in the future.
Suggestion on the name of the ruleset: replace "gravity" with "gravity well(s)", as in: Each cell marked with a dotted box is a gravitational center, and the number in the corner is the sum of all digits within its gravity well, which consists of all cells whose distance to the center is less or equal to the digit at the center (think of it as its gravitational strength), with distance defined as the number of orthogonal steps.

This is a beautiful puzzle! Very enjoyable!! Thanks!! :)
@SKORP17 -- you need to tackle the clues in the correct order (from what I can tell) if you make a block too big or small, it'll be pretty clear :)
