Serendipity

This puzzle is a co creation together with @Aspartagcus. The puzzle is called Serendipity (which means unexpected or unintentional luck), because I was testing a double digit thermo of @Aspartagcus and I was really struggling with the puzzle. I didn't get the ruleset at all, how come the double digits on the thermo don't add up to what is in the bulb? When Aspartagcus told me it is not an arrow, it is a thermometer, I was like, OMG, I feel so stupid... But then it was immediately like, OMG, wouldn't it be cool if we created a double digit arrow Sudoku. So here we are!

Before you start, I recommend turning off the highlight conflicts in f-puzzles.

Normal Sudoku rules apply. On top of that:
  • Arrows with a blue pill are double digit arrows and arrows with an orange circle are normal (single digit) arrows.
  • Digits along the normal arrows in the grid must sum to the digit in its circle.
  • On the double digit arrows, you must read along the arrow where the first digit is a tenth digit and the second digit is a unit digit, following up by again a tenth digit and a unit digit. See example. Also here all double digits must sum up to the number in its pill. The pill must be read either from left to right or from top to bottom (depending if it is a horizontal or vertical pill).
In the example you see the pill is reading 56. Going to the right you can read 21 and 35, 21+35=56. In the south you can read 41+15=56. In the south west you can read 28+28=56 and in the north you can read 41+15=56.

I really LOVE that break in. A genius idea with the arrow.

The world needs more double digit variants!

PV: Thanks! :) There will be more to come! I have one more and also follow Garford, he will place soon a really difficult one :)

It is a gem. A beautiful showcase for the opportunities of double-digit variations.

Very nice puzzle, the break-in is very satisfying. I'd love to see 2-digits thermos and 2-digits arrows interacting !

PV: That would be interesting as well :) I'm going to think that will be my next puzzle, who wants to join me in this thought?
