When X-Sums meet Killer
(Published on 8. February 2021, 14:36 by Joseph nehme)
Rules:
- Normal Standard rules apply.
- Clues outside the grid are X-Sums. They represent the sum of the first X digits in the row or column where X is the first number along that row or column.
- Normal Killer Sudoku rules apply: The digits inside a cage sum to the total indicated on the top left corner of the cage. Digits cannot repeat inside cages.
- Each cage total is indicated in the same row or column as an X-Sum clue. (I color coded each cage total and its respective X-Sum clue so that the clues can be identified easily)
- The killer cages themselves must be deduced and drawn by the solver. The cage can have any shape but the number of the digits it contains must be equal to X (Same X as the X-Sum clue). Note: The killer cage total must always be at the top left corner.
- Cages may not Overlap.

Absolute banger of a puzzle! I actually couldn't be able to spot a lot in the first 15 mins but after spotting certain deductions, the puzzle flowed very well. I especially loved those 14 cages ;)
@Playmaker6174 Thank you my friend :)

That went a lot smoother than expected. It's not as difficult as it looks at first glance. I had a blast solving this. Great puzzle!

@marcmees Thank you for solving it. Yes I think solvers are getting scared of the minimal number of clues when in fact the puzzle in general is quite straightforward and not too difficult. I'm glad you liked it :)

For some time it looks as if this puzzle doesn't offer enough hints to get started and to solve it logically, but in the end it does and it is a very beautiful solving path as well. thanks
