Runs-of-10 Sudoku

(Published on 23. January 2021, 00:42 by EliasKar)

Normal Sudoku rules apply and digits along thermometers must increase starting from the bulb. Clues outside the grid indicate the number of "runs of 10" that appear in the respective row/column. A run of 10 is a set of consecutive cells in a row/column with a sum of 10. These runs may overlap. For example, the sequence 821764593 has three runs of 10 (8-2, 2-1-7, 6-4). Rows/columns with no clues may or may not contain runs of 10 (no negative constraint).

This is a great puzzle. The logic is intricate, but it is definitely there. I've given it a hard rating, because the break-in requires some interesting reasoning, after the break-in it's more of a 2-3 stars solve, but still fun. Very nice

@Thanks a lot for playing!

Is there a negative constraint on the runs of 10? I mean, no clues equals no runs of 10 on a row or column?

There were multiple instances where I thought I made a mistake but it just turned out that there actually was still a way to satisfy the run of 10 count. Very interesting ruleset.

@Thank you very much for playing! I may post more puzzles featuring the runs of 10 in the future!
