Sudoku Variants Series (303) - Assorted Sandwiches Sudoku

(Published on 13. January 2021, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants ProjectI have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Assorted Sandwiches Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate the presence of a sandwich in the corresponding row or column. A sandwich has two digits that act as its boundaries. The clue is the sum of all the digits between those boundaries. The boundaries are the two individual digits of the clue, in any order; 31 outside the grid means that the sum of the digits placed between the digit 1 and the digit 3 (order is not given) is 31.

Inspiration for this type comes from one of the most innovative sudoku authors in our portal: stephane.bura.

Solve online in F-Puzzles (Thx Willy Wonka!) or in Penpa (Thx stephane!).

Solution code: Row 5, followed by column 4

Ganz toll. Ich fand es nicht schwer. Ich hab von Richards SVS nur noch eins mit 3 Sternen übrig (43C), und da komm ich überhaupt nicht weiter.

Thanks for the shout-out, Richard.
Congrats for making a variation that does not require the additional number of clues information for solving.
Can't wait to try it :)
