Chapter 3: Modular Arithmetic

(Published on 28. December 2020, 02:56 by brandon_bot)

This puzzle was inspired by Sudoku Variants Series (255) - Divisible by Three Sudoku. Solving that one first might help if you get stuck :)

Rules:

  1. Normal sudoku rules apply.
  2. Normal little killer rules apply (the numbers along the indicated diagonal must sum to the given total). Digits may repeat along the diagonal.
  3. Inside each 3x3 box, all horizontal and vertical sums of three digits must be divisible by three.

@SenatorGronk I love how the actual numerical digits are disambiguated in your puzzle. Too bad it has so few solves...

Very fun! I made a puzzle that also relied on grouping digits by their mod 3 value: https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=0004M0

I hope it's okay since the puzzle was just published but I found a one clue tweak that makes the ending feel way less contrived. The solution board is unchanged and only the ending logic is modified slightly. Sorry for the inconvenience! No more edits after, I promise :)
