Sandwich Cosmic Sudoku - Follow the North Galaxy
(Published on 27. December 2020, 21:37 by DiMono)
This is a puzzle I built for a Secret Santa puzzle exchange, and it is partially inspired by
Scott Strosahl's puzzle.
Normal sudoku rules apply, except the numbers 1 and 9 have been replaced by a Star Battle.
Fill each row, column, and region with two stars and the numbers 2-8. Stars may not touch orthogonally or diagonally.
Clues outside the grid are Sandwich clues that indicate the sum of the cells between the stars in the row/column.
Circles indicate the center of a rotationally symmetrical galaxy. Each galaxy contains digits that add to the number in the circle without repeating a digit, as well as exactly two stars. No cell may belong to more than one galaxy.
Solve on F-puzzles
Solution code: Row 3 and Row 8, using an S for the stars

Very nice combination! I did not solve in F-Puzzles, because IMHO it does not give enough options to denote the grid on this type of puzzle (with lots of things to keep track of).

Very nice! Really enjoyed the novel rule-set :)
