Standard Sudoku rules apply.
Killer Sudoku rules apply: dashed-outline cages add to the number in their top-left corner (if provided) without repeating a digit.
Disjoint Groups rules apply: No two cells in the same position relative to their box may contain the same digit. i.e. R1C1 and R4C4 cannot be the same digit because they're both the top-left corner of their box.
This puzzle takes inspiration from Qodec's "Qarpet Beater", and Aad van de Wetering's "Tetro Trick", which Simon from Cracking the Cryptic covered in a video recently. If you are absolutely stuck at the beginning of this puzzle, then I recommend watching Simon's video from about 5:10 to about 11:00, as it explains Aad's trick that I made use of here.
Solution code: Row 2, Row 8

Awesome puzzle, good job. I especially like that you used a cage instead of introducing an extra rule for the trick at the beginning.

Brutally beautiful, beautifully brutal!
Also very inspiring, I think you gave me an idea for a puzzle. Great job!
@Wecoc Thanks! I look forward to trying out yours when it's ready.
