Repeat Offenders #1

(Published on 12. November 2020, 18:46 by Big Tiger)

F-Puzzles

Standard Sudoku Rules apply to the final numerical layout.

Standard XV Rules apply: Cells connected by the Roman numeral X sum to 10, and cells connected by the Roman numeral V sum to 5. All possible X's and V's are given.

Standard Little Killer Rules apply: Cells along a given diagonal sum to the number next to the arrow. But only those diagonals with at least one repeated digit are given. All other diagonals have no repeated digits.

Setter's Diary :: November 12, 2020 :: I can't really say where this came from. I was just staring at a blank Sudoku grid wondering what I could do that would not be a mere repeat of any of the standard forms. And I settled on arrows that single out the diagonals that have repeats somewhere in them. No exciting tale to tell here, just an experiment that I'm happy to say is indeed solvable by logic and reaches a unique solution.

Solution code: Row 2, then Row 4

@Ragna

Check if you have on "higlight conflicts" in fpuzzle. If that is off, it doesnt check your solution.

"chucklehead" has found a failure in your grid. Where have you that corrected?
My solution is okay, so LMG Portal tells me. But F-Puzzles tells me, that my solution is not correct.
So what now, you Big Tiger?

*** Not seeing the solution you came up with, I cannot tell you. But the image here is correct, and I just tested it again on F-Puzzles for you and got the right answer there as well. So all is working - something in your solution is incorrect outside of rows 2 and 4.
