Miracle Clones [Tribute to Botaku]
(Published on 10. November 2020, 20:34 by Undar_Beyond)
I was impressed and inspired by Botaku, who published a sudoku implementing an outstanding and original trick on Cracking the Cryptic at
https://youtu.be/qI-PpkB1F9g, here is a tribute to his sudoku using the same technique with stepped up difficulty. Enjoy :)

Rules:
~Normal sudoku rules apply,
~Digits increase strictly from the bulb of the thermometer.
~There are 8 identical clones in the grid which consist of 3 cells each (total of 24).
~Clones have an orthogonally connected shape.
~No two clones overlap.
~Digits on clones cannot be the same if they are separated by a knight's move (in chess).
~It is suggested that you try Botaku's sudoku first if you're stuck.
Solution code: Insert an 18 digit code of the 5th and 8th row

Wow that was very tough, but very satisfying!

Great puzzle! Whereas Botaku's sudoku was mostly about finding the clones, this one was much harder at disambiguating the digits in the end. Awesome tribute!

very nice, I enjoyed it! love how the difficulty was still fairly high after the breakin (which was spoiled a bit for me by having watched that CTC video today...)
