Anti-Knight Killer Sudoku #2

(Published on 31. October 2020, 09:40 by Phistomefel)

This puzzle is a killer sudoku with an additional anti-knight constraint.

The usual sudoku rules apply. Additionally, cells that are a knight's move away from each other, may not contain the same digit. We call an area surrounded by a dashed line a cage. Digits may not repeat within a cage. A number in the top left corner of a cage indicates the sum of all digits in this cage.

The puzzle is also available online via F-Puzzles. Have fun solving!

Brilliant! I attempted it knowing it would be considerably above my level and I'm beyond thrilled that I managed to find my way through the incredible logic. Thanks!

Great Puzzle. Thanks for setting this one up.

@DiMono I had also had to use brute force enumerating on mostly the central cells. I did find that logic to be quite awesome though, haha. But the indented path is a thing of beauty

I thought it was absolutely mindboggling how fast Simon discovered the logic in this puzzle. Of course it was pretty obvious to me he's a good solver, but this was just 'something else'.

Simon got to this puzzle before I had a chance to replay it, but I see now how the intended path comes together. It's very nice indeed. I need to have more faith in Phistomefel puzzles that brute force tactics like enumerating all locations for a digit won't be required.

Fantastic! Good practice since I'm normally horrible with antiknight...

Just brilliant. This could become ‘Cracking the Cryptic - The Movie II’

Thank you all for your nice feedback! :)

@SudokuExplorer: Thanks for the reference to cam's Basket Case. I'll take a look at it.

@cdwg2000: That is exactly the intended solution path. :)

Loved it!

The interaction of the cages reminded me of cam's Basket Case (id=0004F9).

A very smooth and narrow solution path.

Very good, the problem solving path is very narrow.
